Just wondering if anyone knows if the Bitterroots are blooming in the Ellensburg/Yakima area.
Thanks
NN
It's pretty safe to say that if we take all of man kinds accumulated knowledge, we still don't know everything. So, I hope you understand why I don't believe you know everything. But then again, maybe you do.

Typically I don't see the big bloom of them until more closer to May 20th or so. Last year on Manastash Ridge it was peak time when I was there on May 29th. I've been on the Yakima Skyline on May 15th before and only had 1-2 isolated bloomers.

Thanks Alan.
The reason I ask is I had read a trip report for the Yakima Rim Skyline on WTA that indicated that maybe they were blooming. Just checkin'

It wouldn't surprise me if a few are, but I'm speaking of having entire rocky ridgelines pink blooming at once with them

I saw just one or two in bloom yesterday(5/9) near Whiskey Dick. This was on a hot south rocky facing slope. I'd guess they are just starting. BTW, the cactus was budded and almost open. The day was cold, windy with showers.
