Went out today to Melakwa Lake. The wet slushy snow made for a not so great trip. The sun came out right around lunch time and made for a nice lunch. Going through Hemlock Pass saw that there had been a few fresh avalanches. Not a top 10 day. But it was still peaceful.

Still plenty of snow. No big deal. Nasty wet hailstorm made us lose interest below the last climb below Hemlock Pass. Ate pizza and beer under a big tree, much to the envy of others. Nice walk, surprised to see so many people out in jeans and tenny runners in the snow!

Allison, one cannot eat beer. And all those envious people! Heck, tell 'em to go find their own big tree.

Sorry, correction, we ate beer and drank pizza. The pizza was in glass bottles.

Maybe I was just born lucky, maybe it was eight years of competitive middle distance running, but unless I'm going to do something real tough or right at the beginning of the year, I don't train. I might do the Golden Gardens stairs a few times before we do St. Helens next month, but beyond that, training is not really for me.
Beer & pizza must be the secret. winksmile.gif
