Who has children here? I know many do so lets see the next generation of hikers/backpackers/scramblers/climbers. I always bring tigger on trips for a reminder of what I have at home. You all have seen lots of pics so here is a quick video of Josh in action. He chose the song. "Its my favorite" He says... smile.gifJosh man (ppppssstttt ....yes I am bored)

My little angels. Neither one of them claims to enjoy hiking but they'll sometimes go anyway.

I know what you mean. My family lives in Chicago, so, at best, it's a once-a-year visit. Quick story about Laura. She's a pop culture mall rat. Knows the latest styles and music trends and wouldn't be caught dead in Wal*Mart. I took her out to Obstruction Point with the intention of finding a lake to name for her (did I mention she has no self-image problems?). After spurning two tarns she finally settles on a lake about 1.5 miles from the trailhead. This is preceded by rock scrambling and some elevation gain - pretty decent hike for a city girl. While filling her water bottle at the lake she incurs a dirt smudge on her shirt and declares we must return home to change. I said no problem and promptly dumped a handful of snow down her back and tossed a gob of mud on her precious shirt.

Hannah at 6 her first peakbag, 14.8 miles, 3k'-4k' and we have drug her around the country for years. Did quite a few peakbags with me this year, and now she doesn't (at 14 y/o) even break a sweat on most trips. I used up my flickr pic quota so if you here something, but you see nothing, it may have been her passing by. We've been on some great backpacks as well. She's the bomb. Aaron her younger brother by 2 years has gone through this hazing and although he climbs like a monkey, he isn't in to the hiking as much, YET . hockeygrin.gif up.gif up.gif

SJ, that Lillian Ridge pic is just to much. Hannah and I did The Grand Valley Loop when we were out here in 2000 or 2001, when we still lived back in Ohio. It was a very persuasive experience in getting us out here. winksmile.gif

Abby, my niece, sent me a letter prior to the entire clan heading out here this summer. She wrote that we "can't forget the hikking". Precious. The kids had a real blast out here. I just wished they lived closer so I could see them more often.
I remember your thread asking for suggestions on where to take them -- where did you go, and how did they like it?
