Uh, the West fork of the Miller River is a ROAD!

The only trail around (kind of) leads up to Francis lake.

It didn't much resemble a road a few weeks ago...more like a dry riverbed.  dizzy.gif
Plus, even if one got around the jersey barriers at the "trailhead", there's too much crap across the "road" now for it to be drivable anyway (unless someone wanted to spend a good week brushing it out).....  doh.gif

oooooooooo, there was a trail up to Goat Basin.....  hmmm.gif

Definitely a trail to Francis Lake. We used it a couple years ago.

I was told that people HAD been driving around the jersey barriers?

Is that not the case?

Is that just brush you are talking about that's in the roadway?

Thanks DR.  I guess that's just one more 4x4 trail lost!  I don't expect sympathy for that on this board.  It's just sad and aggravating to loose a hobby that you love because of political correctness!

I hope it doesn't happen to THIS hobby too!

There were also several places where the trail was massively overgrown, in addition to that uber-blowdown mess.  I'm sure if one were so inclined, it's be passable, so long as you don't mind putting new racing stripes on yer ride.  tongue.gif

But hey, if it's any consolation the May Creek / Lake Isabel road looked easily drivable at least to the bridge, if not further (given big enough wheels), aside from that first ford at May Creek crossing of course.

I drove past the bridge and to the end of the road last weekend!

Lake Isabel is an easy trail.  I used it as a break in maiden voyage for the beast!

Damn.  Where were you when Stomp and I went up there.  confused.gif  winksmile.gif

Just our of curiosity, where is 'the end of the road'?  Beyond where the spur branches off to the lake I assume?

The road continues past the right hand turn off that climbs the valley to below Coney lake.  There was a mine there.  The end of the road unofficially ends a mile past that.  It continues beyond more trail like to two more mines.
