My latest stop on the Spring Tour of the Teanaway was Navaho Peak. The Stafford Creek Trail is snow free for about 2 miles and it is not constant until after the Standup Creek intersection at about 4 miles. Lots of water on the trail but no downed trees. We had near perfect snow conditions from the pass to the summit. I have a full report with 30 photos at: Navaho Peak

Thanks Slide, With the number of times we have each been in the Teanaway area this year it's amazing we haven't run into each other. Hopefully we will soon. I enjoy reading your reports as well.

Did Navaho & Little Navaho today. Snow free to Navaho, except for is a medium sized steepish portion at the base as Navaho which can be avoided; but the snow is soft, its easy to kick-step, and it is always easier and more pleasant to travel on snow when you can. Some fun snow on the traverse between the two, but it can be avoided. Flowers are all over the place. Tons of shooting star orchards and stands, avalanche lillies, anenome, white and purple phlox, a few paintbrushes, and millions of bunches of those gorgeous tiny creeping pink succulent looking things on the barren rock between Navaho and little Navaho (I can't find my flower book; nothing on my book shelf is organized). Even if all you do is go to the Pass, it's a worthy trip - views of Stuart and the Enchantments at the Pass. Saw a party of 4 on the steep snowfields of Stuart. A cloud was docked on the summit about the time they reached it, but hopefully they stayed long enough; the cloud moved on a bit later.
