Is Higgins LO the same as Mt. Higgins?
Dacker and I went to check out Mt. Higgins TH a while back and it was blocked by a big downed tree

Higgins LO is the same as the Mt. Higgins trail. However, it is not the true summit of Higgins, but rather the western summit.
We also found a tree blocking the road, but it was smaller, about 4 inch trunk. We couldn't push it sideways, but we could tilt it up, so three of us held it up overhead while the two vehicles drove underneath. I think Quark has a picture.

Higgins has, like, four friggin' summits. West, LO, Skadulgwas, and East.

Correct.
The west summit, 4849, is the site of the old lookout and the destination of the Mt. Higgins trail.
The middle summit, 4995, is also known as Skadulgwas, which is a native name for the peak.
The east summit, 5175, is highest, and is named for homesteader Walter D. Higgins.
Look for more pictures and reports here soon, since all six people had cameras, running the gamut of Canon products, including representatives of the Powershot A500, A600, and A700 series.

There was an overwhelming amount of cameras/picture taking on this trip! I didn't take that many pics, but couldn't resist taking this movie of welcoming Quark at Dick's creek crossing.

Nice video.
Quark doesn't duck very well, does she? :-)
And PiB, you have amazingly good aim.

I had an excellent time on this trip. The company was better than I could have hoped for, and was very excited when Matt joined. I’ve heard a lot about Matt over the years (good things) and it was good to do a trip with him.
Thank you Matt for the research on the winter route via the ridge. What an excellent ridge is is, too! God, I wouldn’t want to do that in summer though.
I did no trail-breaking, but I promise to help out with future trips.
Word of caution to anyone on the LO summit in winter. Underneath the large expanse of snow on the north part of the summit is a featureless rock slab, so don’t venture out of the fluffy snow. The little hemlock on the cliff overlooking the Stillaguamish valley is as far as you should hang.
