Big thanks to marylou from those of us searching high and low for Deuter. And for those who have yet to give them a try, a pack that hikers take the time to write about is usually worth the look. -Jo ~ a new owner of an incredibly comfortable and not orange Deuter daypack.

Josie,
Which one did you end up buying?

I bought the Guide 30 through Pro Guiding Service in North Bend Washington. It is made out of tougher than nails material, doesn't have any unnecessary cr*p hanging off of it, is black and royal blue so I don't glow in the dark and fits more than I could ever need to day hike. I could even use it to just carry my bladder and first aid kit because it can compress down almost flat against my back. The manager at Pro Guiding ordered it for me when I was struggling to find a pack to fit me, I had no luck with the packs geared to fit a 'lady'. They guide in Europe and have years of experience with the Deuter packs, great for me since he listened to what I needed and shot off an order. I actually get excited to use my pack because it doesn't hit me in the shoulder blades or have any strange oversized lumbar pad. I'm looking into selling my basically new North Face multiday pack and trying out the ACT Lite series.
