Yesterday Eric and I met at White Pass and made our way up via the Ski area. We hit snow at 5200 feet as we used the west side service road and then basically went cross country from near the top of the most southerly ski run. Lots of snow still and the views from Hogback were excellent as we could see Rainier, St. Helens and Adams as well as the Goat Rocks. Hogback is a good one to do at this time of year when heat takes over the lowlands (98 degrees in Kennewick) and we had nice 70 degree weather on the almost 7000 foot summit. We even had a thunderstorm to entertain us as we hurried down to get off the mountain.

From about HERE, you get this nice view of Rainier.
Looking north towards the north summit of Hogback Mtn.
The Goat Rocks area from Hogback's summit. Mt. Adams peeks in from the background.
Factoids: From White Pass highway via the service road to the western ski area and then cross country to the peak and back: 9 miles
Elevation gain of our route: 2650 feet.

I didn't remember it being as cloudy as my pics turned out. Nonetheless, a few pics:
I won't swear to them but my best guesses on peak names are posted with the mouse rollover labels.
