This very popular trail was deserted yesterday. The only remnants from prior hiking activities a very dusty trail. The upper lake is a real gem. We had it all for ourselves. First 3 people we ran into all day, after 2 PM and on the way down.

Flowers?
Nice photos, Ulrich How were the flowers? Which ones were at their peak? I've hiked that trail later in the year and always managed to miss the flower show. Karen

Thanks
Thanks, Ulrich I love the photo of the magenta Paintbrush -- I wish I could find a polypro hiking top in that magenta shade! Karen

Drove with some friends up to Sunrise. Passing by the parking area for Crystal Lakes Trail we counted about 30 cars!
