TNAB Goes Bananas!
by Yet , Guest TR Poser
Bananas was the buzzword on this hike - wet bananas, soft bananas (great for banana bread), frozen bananoids (huh?), and my favorite – chocolate covered bananas. On a stick. It all started when Nicole offered everyone her banana, but only yukon222 was man enough to hold it for her.
Annette Lake was a last-minute alternate destination due to the weather forecast. A short, sweet, and gradual hike to the pretty lake. Once there, we milled around, watched Daniel and Joseph as they went for a dip in the lake, and huddled...until the threat of being eaten alive by the bugs became too much to contend with. We soon headed out and were off the trail before 9 pm!
Nine water-resistant TNAB’ers showed up for last night’s merriment; Chris M, Daniel (Winnie), Don (Malachai Constant), Joseph, Nicole (Rainier2007), Steve N, Steve (yukon222), Yet and Mark (Mesahchie).
After drying off a bit at the trailhead, 8 of us enthusiastically headed over to the NBB&G. We were wet, we were filthy, and we were hungry!
Nicole kept us entertained before, during, and after dinner. We never knew when she would break out into a song, but hilarity invariably ensued each time. She has a beautiful voice and her timing perfect. Plus, she’s such a good sport.
Another great TNAB!
Stats; 7 miles RT, 1700 ft gained, 1 negligible patch of snow on the trail, 9 hikers, 2 pitchers of beer, enough nachos to satisfy Nicole’s appetite, zero brownies, and all the bananas a girl can eat.
Joseph and Daniel struttin' their sweet stuff Innocent Bystanders More Innocent (?) Bystanders Whose shorts are these? a nannosecond break in the clouds Annette Lake The Black Hat Club MC and Chris ponder the meaning of bananas... hiking + food + great company = b-a-n-a-n-a-s

No, it's not just you! I've been bothered by bugs twice already this year. Hoardes of them on a recent trip. Gawd!
Excellent TR, Yet. You have a gift.

Well, there were actually two bananas.
The weather wasn't great but the trees did shelter us from the rain somewhat as we zoomed up the trail. Until, of course, we were 5 minutes away from the lake. Rain stops, mosquitos arrive in force and invite a few of their relatives too. It wasn't quite cold enough for a couple of the TNAB'ers so they decided to test the waters of Annette Lake. They and the rest of us made it out alive and back to NBBG for food and drinks.

Pretty neat pictures!
Eeks! The water looks cold. I wonder how long the lake has been thawed and what the temperature is?
Everything looks so green. Were the bananas green?
Lake Annette.....I wonder who it was named after? Anyone know?
Slip!

Great TR Yet!
So, while the Granite Solstice hike may have been the most fun TNAB hike of the season, this had to be the best North Bend Bar & Grill (NBBG) outing yet.
Good times! I haven’t laughed so hard in a long time. Thanks everyone!

Nice! Looks like everyone had a great time Props for getting in the water, I'm usually too scared of freezing my a** off unless it's at least 80 degrees out. Nice pics

Sorry we missed out on the only chance for Jeremy to go fishing during a TNAB. Darn it, you know Tisha was just waiting to go skinny dipping. Great pics everyone but we had to wonder if Yukon was stalking Winnie just waiting for this perfect shot:

BTW - we added it to the sexiest men of NWhikers thread.

We don't know how these ladies were able to look at the camera with all that beautiful scenery just behind them.

No! Actually, he kept begging someone to take his picture while he splashed around out there. Everyone kept looking away but his antics finally wore Mark down enough that as Supreme Group Leader, he ordered me to snap the photo. 3 takes later, WTP was happy and ready to leave.

So, Yukon, does this mean you got Pooh on your camera now?
