I'm planning on going out to Olympic NP in July or August. I was hoping to do 2 multi-day hikes. One along the coast, and one in the interior. I'm not all that familiar with the area though. Does anybody have any suggestions?

For the interior? Royal Basin, Seven Lakes Basin, Enchanted Valley, Blue Glacier...and on and on and on. There seems to be a severe lack of photos and information from the interior of the park on the internet...

visit: http://www.alpinequest.com Then click on any of the Olympic Mtns. treks under Trek Talk. You should find some interior traverses there on trail and off.

Hurricane ridge is pretty awesome. I would recommend looking at hiking from Obstruction Peak through Grand Valley to Grand Pass. Or if alpine meadows are your thing, Obstruction Peak down to Deer Park has some incredible meadows and views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca, Mt. Olympus and the Needles.

The Hoh trail is nice and you can go as short or as long as you like. There are many camping spots along the trail. Have fun!!!!!

You're going to have to be a little more spific than that, new. smile.gif What kind of trail are you interested in? Rain forest or mountain views? Steep or level? Overnight or dayhike? I've pretty much done just rain forest dayhikes there, and I can recommend a few. The Sol Duc Trail is by far my favorite, but there's also very good rain forest hikes in the Elwha and Lake Quinault areas.
