I'm looking for some long and hard day hikes in Washington for the Winter. Do they exist?

Almost every hike around here requires a brush with snow in the winter. So I'd like any advice on this topic too. About the only good place I know of for an elevation(hard) hike without the white stuff is the Columbia Gorge around the Washington/Oregon border. Luckily I have family down there so I get an excuse to make the 3 hour drive now and then.

Tiger Mt has 80 miles of trails. That'll keep you busy for a while.

I'll second Tiger. It's a great place to get in 3,000+ elevation in the winter. Last March 3 of us did a loop over all six summits and Poo Poo Point. It was 19 miles and 4400" gain. That seemed like a good long workout to me. Get away from the Tradition Lake trail up West Tiger 3 and the crowds lessen significantly.
