It is getting to that time of year again, and I need to replace my old ones. If anyone has anything, or knows of some good deal somewhere, please help me out! Thank you!

Second Ascent in Ballard often has second-hand snowshoes, but better go soon as the season is almost here.

Take a look in the REI gear garage. On occasion they will have returned/retired rental MSR Denalis for very cheap.

Thanks.. Is the "GEAR GARAGE" on-line, or at one of the stores (or all stores)?

I cant speak for all the stores, but the Seattle store has an area downstairs near the rental counters where all that stuff goes. It's marked way down, and 10% off that price for members. After last season they put all their used rental Denalis up for sale. The guy at the counter said they do that every few years. But I have seen pairs that customers have returned for various reasons on the shelf over the winter before.

I have a pair of Atlas model# 844 Walking/Hiking snowshoe if anyone is interested. Rated to 250. Brand new, never used. $50 dollars. I will even drive them to Seattle. (I will be there tommorow/ So driving offer ends tomorow ) If $50 is too much then take highest amount will to pay. Rather they be in your closet than sitting in mine.

S shoes
Do you still have them? I'm an avid hiker/climber but don't do much in the way of winter sports. Would these be a good pair to start with? I'm 6'1 and 215 lbs. Thanks Tim

Atlas 844 are 44" long - if you hiked with these around here you'd probably never want to go snowshoeing again. We have this discussion every year re. length, but most people do not need anything longer than 25" around here.

There not for steep climbing, no. Glad you have them though if your with heavy pack or elk quaters on your back in deep snow
