Great uncrowded place for a labor day excursion. No bugs and one dooesy of a pass those switchbacks are nuts..a little slippery too. The lake is gorgeous and full of bergs. As a first timer on this one I was amazed with the terrain and the treasure that waited beyond the Pass. How much further from the lake to the top of Vesper peak? It was late in the day and I decided to head back for those switchbacks dizzy.gif solfoo

Not too far. Kind of depends on the person though. Average hiker could probably get to top in not much more than an hour. I did it in good snow, so it went fast.
