Spent the night in leavenworth. Drank beers and ate fries. Got a good night sleep in a hotel there. Headed out next morning to the aforementioned destinations. Weather finally cleared monday night. In the single digits at night. 3 nights, ~20 mi. 45ish during the days. Used new UL DH Montbell Bag #0 and a few improvised methods for my summer gear.

completely alone. except for a stealth human that visited my camp while i was up at Lk Stuart. when i returned to camp i noticed a design in the meadow in front of my tent.
i pondered over what it was for several days. then on my way out, it hit me: it was a giant cock'n'balls (pardon my french)
it gave me a chuckle. you can see where my mind was not.

I'll try to help.
I was up there 2 weeks ago.
The gate was open, but there was a big berm at the start of the road. There was a big parking area plowed out, but not beyond 8mile. There was a big melted out spot just past the berm, and then a couple more melted out areas in the first mile. The rest was all snow, plus some washout/avi debris after the 1 mile mark. All snow after.
Hope this helps...

right dicey...
the road is plowed to the 8mi creek road. plenty of parking.
fella recommended parking at the 8 mi campground but i was able to drive to the road turnoff just fine.
there is a large snow berm at the road so driving it isn't an option

Glad to see someone was able to get out and enjoy the whole spell of good weather in the middle of last week.
