Great for weighing hiking gear & keeping pack weight down. Tiny so you can bring it along to weigh stuff in store. Tare function lets you weigh larger items by putting them in a container. I bought a couple extra of these a few years ago and forgot about them my closet. NEXXTECH™ MINI COUNTER SCALE 2 available for $5 each.

FWIW, they work great!

Hey Tom, if you have one left, I'll take it. It sounds just up my geeky alley!

Just wanted to say these work great, should have got one a long time ago. Tom is right, it slips right into your pocket and is soooo handy for weighing items in da store. I picked up a 9" aluminum plate ystdy for $3, which I was able to quickly determine weighed 3oz. (I plan to experiment with it as a fry pan on my Snow Peak stove.) The folks at REI didn't bat an eye at my weighing shenanigans lol.gif Thanks for cleaning out your closet, Tom!

Anybody have a weight for the mini scale?
