Great day to climb Baldy. Parked before Cougar Cr. and biked to trailhead. When we came down people had driven across the snow section, so it should be good from now on. We went up the Maynard Burn Alt trail with no real problems. Snowshoes came on at about 5400'. The snow was very stable with no signs of slides near us, just one big avalanche on Gray Wolf Pk. Bike 9, Hike 7.5, 4270', Total time 7:30

All the photos are great, but I really like the big slide on Gray Wolf photo.

Holy $#!*? eek.gif waah.gif When it got to the first shelf it triggered another big slab down the lower valley. nwhikers -- you've got to click through to look at the original size photo and use the trees for scale -- this was huge!

And while you're at it, note the size of that cornice.

Great report, route and pics, sequimjack. Looks like a perfect day to be on Baldy. Gray Wolf via the ridge is looking pretty darn appealing, too.
