What's a June without a trip to Boulder River? No one has to ever twist my arm to visit Boulder River trail.
As many times as I've visited Boulder River, I've attempted to photograph the falls once. Maybe twice; and that was just in the last year or so. I see other stuff at Boulder River that knocks me out.
We were on a time crunch due to JimK's busy social calendar, so I'll have to go back and lay on the ground and take more photos another time. But the time crunch was great 'cause I needed to excersize; my muscles have been knotted up lately, and I needed to un-knot. A Quarkian pace on Boulder River in June wasn't what my knots needed.
Not a lot of people on the trail today; several parties, but that's nothing to a summer day at Boulder River. Turned out to be sunny and warm. Which is another reason the photos are lacking; that busy old fool, unruly sun. Messing up the photo ops.
Every dog on the trail (7) was leashed.
God I love this place. This forest is a busy place. Everything is exploding, especially the fern. A feast for the eyes.

Fiddlehead pair rocks.
Did you feel the burn with your workout?

I usually nap on the way home!
But not advisable if you're the driver.

I only dozed 4 times. Jim didn't notice 'cause I was wearing my sunglasses. Imagine the hell it would be for a passenger if the driver didn't wear sunglasses. Tthere is so much traffic on I-5 in the middle of the afternoon, you just sorta nudge against the cars on either side so you don't spin off the road anyway, so it's no big deal.
Boulder River has always needed work on the last half of the trail. I worked on the first half many times over the last decade, and was always able to pick out the rock wall that me, Greg Ball and the Lakeside School kids had built, or the trees I had helped cut (or watched being cut). It's boring for the other person with me having to listen to me narrate every step of that trail.
But luckily for Jim, I only recognized 2 places where I had worked. Ma Nature creeps in and takes over, so what the trailwork exposed, Ma recovered.

VERY nice Jim! You do realize that the Teanaway is on the OTHER side of the range, right?
