3 months ago i ordered dsl service from earthlink, about a week after placing the order i recieved an email from them telling me that my order was canceled because my phone line didn't meet the standards required for dsl.
so, i called up comcast to see about getting a cable modem. also not available in my old apartment building.....
2 days ago i recieved a bill from earthlink for 1 month of dsl service... ??? so i call them up that morning (with a chip on my shoulder.. not in a very good mood) to find out what's going on.....
apparently, my dsl line was activated in september (!) and they "forgot" to let me know.. so, they ups-redded me an installation kit, which arrived this morning. took less than 10 minutes to set it up.
the speed is much better than i expected, i average 145kbps downloading files, and i can talk on the phone at the same time now really sweet
and, they credited me back for the lost month of service, and didn't charge me for the overnight shipping on the modem.
Good for you. Ive had one for a few years now.
Im switching to cable. Must faster!
