Bump! After 11 prime summer hiking days Reggie is getting bored on Galleon.
If he's still there on Aug 10 when I'm back in town I can get him.

Hello! I'm still here! Please don't forget about me!
I've only been on three new summits this year, and I've been sitting here for six weeks.

Well there's scant information about the mountain or how to get there. Best I can tell, it's a 17 mile hike in prime skeeter country.
So I'll wait until it pops up a little closer to I_90.

Register retrieved from Galleon

Galleon was a tough little bugger. First you have to drive 17 miles of the best the Middle Fork Road has to offer, then you have to find he umarked trail head for the Green Ridge Trail. That is one heck of a steep trail, but it is is really good shape, easy to follow, and runs through some really nice, healthy and diverse forest. Solitude is found here. I went there two weekends in a row and never saw another person.
This trail is steep Galleon Reflections on Green Ridge Lake
Kirk and I didn't have enough time to get it on Aug 30, so jt and I planned for a longer day the next weekend (last weekend) and made it all the way. We saw a lot of interesting stuff along the way and, most importantly, we got the register!
Full TR is here. Now, where should we place it?

A peak at the head of Surprise Creek like Spark Plug, Surprise, Thunder or Mac Peak.

I took Reggie on a walk Friday. I went up to the lookout on Granite Mountain (I-90) and had the place entirely to myself. I took more time to explore than I have before, and found a few things I never realized were there, like a toilet and two benchmarks.
I signed the NWHTRS on the summit, but then brought it back down.
Tomorrow, Sunday, jt and I will take it to a new place and leave it. It will be fun to see how long it lasts at the new spot. Could be mere hours, or it could be weeks. Let's hope not.

BTW, I had forgot that don b had taken the NWHTRS to Floating Rock peak before he left it on Galleon, so I've added that to the list and the count of peaks increases by two to 28.

What a great day we had! It was so good that it didn't take very long at all to forget that I woke up at 3:50AM!
The weather forecast is looking great for many days yet to come, so do yourself a favor and go to Mt. Aix on a sunny, clear day.
This was once the site of a fire lookout, and I'd have to say it must have been one of the most sought after assignments. From there you can see Mt. Adams, Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier at the same time without even turning your head.
Note, if you go up there it would be nice to take a notebook or some sheets of paper to leave in the register. The permanent register there has a tiny notepad that is full and a bunch of paper scraps and post-it notes.
