Hulksmash's report on Minotaur Lake got me wondering. What lake has the coolest island? Maybe such an island would be one you could actually camp on or fish from, or just good for swimming to.......any votes?

Touron is a nougat of Arabic origin made with almonds and honey or sugar, without which it would just not be Christmas in Spain.

Well for camping and fishing from. My vote goes for cougar, cat, and tenmile island on ross lake. A kayak is on my list of equipment purchaes, with the intent of camping on one of them. It's been sooooo long since i've had a chance to camp on one of those islands.

The coolest one is top sekrit. I could tell you, but the dialogue would be infected with a linguistic worm, the result of which would be urgent chronic squirts. But hey ! Dorothy lake has a few interesting islands, some of which are campable, so check that out. biggrin.gif Why, here's one now. suuure.gif

Spirit Island - Maligne Lake, Jasper NP. Okay, technically its not really an island, but who cares when it looks like this: (not my picture)

Ive spent the night on Found lake's island, Crater lake's Island and Ptarmigan lake's Island. While Craters is the biggest, I think Ptarmigans is the coolest.

The peninsula (not quite an island) on Laura is pretty cool too.

I'll vote for Thompson Lake NW of Mt Defiance (E of North Bend) because it's close to Seattle, it's an actual trail hike to get to the lake, it's an actual island on an actual lake, and it's one of the few islands I've actually swum to. Also although pretty accessible the lake seems infrequently visited.

Island on Minotaur Lake

I was eyeballing it...I think the water might be shallow enough to wade to it. If it wasn't so freaking cold on saturday i would have made an attempt. hockeygrin.gif

Definitely the picture of the trip!

I've always wondered what the fishing would be like from the island in Lake Angeles but I've never wanted to haul a raft up there to find out.
