Very short trip report. I took a quick hike/run up to Lake Margaret before work on Wednesday. A fresh dusting of snow turned the world white. The overcast and fog sucked the color out of the scenery and made for mono-chromatic goodness. I look forward to winter but I still want my fall. Pics :

The grove of old growth at the edge of logging done on the way to Lake Margaret. I converted to B&W because there was so very little natural color in this to begin with.

Not sure if this is a meadow full of water, a lake receding, a pond or a tarn. But it looks like a portal to another world. Along the trail just before you reach Lake Margaret.

Continuing with the fine tradition of naming lakes after lovers and wives, this is little Lake Margaret, just over the ridge from I-90.

It's strange to see snow starting to cover all the color. The color feels alive... the snow, kind of lonely.

Fall will be here on Saturday - so get out and enjoy it! That little lake-let is Yvonne. It is named on the maps though on older maps it had a different name smile.gif

Very nice. Though I have to say it looks a little too much like winter for my taste. But that's not your fault, your pics are beautiful! biggrin.gif

You mean by date? (9/22 actually) or cause the sun returns and the snow melts? smile.gif I am heading to Rainier tomorrow with my wife so I am looking forward to sun!
