I have a picture of the outlet fall coming out of Silver Lake (just one section of it) taken by someone standing close to its base. Quite a sight, I'd love to do the climb out of the valley up to the lake. Yet, when I do go I have a feeling I'd come in from the north or up Depot Creek as Pappy suggests.
I don't doubt that Depot Creek is the way to go. However, I would wager that going in Depot Creek, and climbing down the Silver Lake outfall would be much more difficult than coming in from the Ross side (if one's goal is the waterfall at least).
I'm hoping to do Depot Creek up to Ouzel Lake this summer sometime. If I've got enough time, I may hot foot it up the pass to take a peak at Silver.
