Since last evening the pressure has been dropping like a rock. Yesterday it was reading 30.40 and at the present, my barometer is reading 29.60 and still dropping. It will be interesting to see how low it goes. I have seen it get below 29.00 around here a couple of times but it is doesn't happen often.

Yeah, I'll be watching the baro throughout the day. Most bizarre altimeter reading in my experience was in August 2000, last time I climbed Rainier (via Emmons-Winthrop route). Big inversion. Our altimeters were reading 1800+ feet low at the summit.

Here at Casa de la Spalding, the current pressure is: Pressure: 29.52 in (Falling) Pressure Rate: -0.078 in/hr That's sea level corrected for our altitude of 550'. Actual is 28.94". My wife is on her way to Leavenworth now too. She is gonna get a real taste of winter there, and hopefully will be able to make it back on Sunday. PS: If anyone is as much of a weather geek as I am, feel free to visit my weather page for current conditions: Spalding Home Weather In addition, I have a page on WUnderground too: Weather Underground where you can see history and live observations.

My barometer is now reading 29.45 and still falling. I wonder when the wind is going to start.

17:45 obs: Pressure: 29.05 in (Falling) 28.47" actual. It is stormy out there. We saw huge green flashes earlier as trees and branches hit power lines somewhere near hwy 202 on our way home from Sammamish.

It looks like my barometer bottomed out at 29.05. This is not the lowest I have seen around here but it is close. That is quite a change from yesterday when I had a reading of 30.40 The wind seems to have died down some also.

Mine bottomed at 29.05" corrected as well. We must have our barometers corrected to sea-level properly. smile.gif

The barometer is reading 29.50 and still falling. This seems a little unusual for this time of year. Edit: Oops I see there is already a thread about the approaching storm.
