I think there are times when color can distract from the subject. I think someone pointed out that BW can enhance contrast as well. This is one that I thought looked better in BW than in color:

Here's a study I did in B/W with an InfraRed equivalent (photo was converted to InfraRed equivalent in Lightroom, not true InfraRed frown.gif )

The images below were taken near a waterfall, my guess is the mist built up on the chain link fence and created this most interesting pattern.

up.gif up.gif everyone gil.....is that 'christ the redeemer' in rio? if so, it sure was cool to have a webcam at the ticket booth so one can decide to go or not especially if it's foggy at the summit. i was there in 2003....
