Had the bug to try snowshoing so rented a pair of msr's and headed up the trail with a too heavy pack. Hit snow at 3500ft, so put on crampons as the snow was crunchy under the trees, got to a wide spot on the trail at 5000ft. made a tent spot in the dark and huddled up for the night. In the morning it was snowing pretty good. Got out the msr's and WOW!! they are great!! hardly knew they where there! They did exellent on uphill and traverse, was a breeze on the meadow. Hope I'm getting a pair from the jolly ole'
