Abba!? Ptui! Their Scandinavian ancestors are spinning in their graves at what has become of their people... Now, I'll have to go drink heavily until the sound and name of Abba is gone from the loop playing in my brain...maybe it'll be replaced by something more pleasant like the sounds of a hangover.

Earth First! We'll strip mine the rest of the galaxy later. They call me the thread killer...

Darn!!! ABBA returns to mess up a perfectly good 2009. Couldn't even wait for my vacation to be over! Is no treachery beneath them? Ah well, off to the guns, hunting, and global warming threads. At least with those folks I don't have to waste good Listerine washing vomit from my mouth. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif Tom

A and A of ABBA deny rumors of fighting.

Russia's Putin likes ABBA, a closet fan

ABBA was one of the best-loved foreign bands during Soviet times, and the Swedish quartet even traveled to Moscow to perform in the Kremlin. But revelations that Putin could be a closet ABBA fan run counter to his traditional strongman image.[ lol.gif lol.gif ] The prime minister is better known for manly displays on the judo mat and in fighter jet cockpits, and for robust outbursts against the West.

He probably prefers Berlin

Yeah, I like some of their songs. It's a guilty pleasure. Please don't tell my machismo friends.

I suspect Touron had something to do with this event.

...a harrowing story eek.gif That she revived singing ABBA....this is where art and science meet and impasse. One side may claim causation, the other, correlation, both plumbing the depths of the cosmos for an answer...

Y'know, the ABBA form isn't used much. Don't sonatas use ABA? I mean, why repeat B when A is usually better? You want to start with a really good theme, balance it with something dull and contrite, then end with the dessert de jour... nobody but ABBA uses ABBA. Sheesh!

I think a lot of people have asked that question, answered it, answered it again, but then ended up asking the same question over. I don't expect the whole thing to get resolved in the near future. Part of the problem is that you only need to know the first two letters of the alphabet to hold a discussion about it. In the meantime we still get to enjoy good music.

Sorry. Saw this on another board and just had to share for the comic value if nothing else.

Sadly, right now I'm a poseur. Sigh.
