Hotfoot, My old external (75) is still going strong. In all those years I've had only one problem with it - a clevis pin came out and a strap came loose. No rips, tears, and no problems with the frame. Even the zippers are still holding up as new after 27 years. To me it's almost weird. I still have a shiny SVEA123 and an Optimus 99 from that time. Both work extremely well, and the SVEA fits into a series of nested SIGG cookpots that are really handy. It's not as convenient as my newer cannister stove, but it will last a life time.

My short-term memory is not as sharp as it used to be. Also, my short-term memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

I have an older REI external frame pack. (I am not sure how old). I had to look pretty closely to see who made it! It's old enough that the name isn't plastered all over it like they do now-a-days! I don't use it, it is too big for my frame. It is in pretty good condition, though. I *might* be able to be sweet talked out of it...
