One of my favorite close-to-the-valley areas to roam many miles in. The disaster mess from the ice storm was amazing as THOUSANDS of trees have been cut through the past 2 weeks--one more work party scheduled this weekend but all trails and roads I hiked were cleared of the war zone. Areas of 800 alder trees...only 8-10 still standing it seemed.
Great area, great spring native plants in April. PM me if you want the details.
Areas of 800 alders, wow! How long did it take you to count 'em? It sure is suspicious that there are 800 in each area. Not 823, or 796 or 864 - but 800.
I don't think you counted them at all. Nope, I don't.
But I will PM you for the details anyway.
