How about a thread dedicated to panoramas? Since going digital that has been one of my things. After getting a couple normal shots I shoot at least one pano of most good scenes, and often do a number. Sometimes the goal is to get a sweeping view impossible any other way, sometimes it is to create a very high res. picture. It takes more time (which often drives my wife crazy) but is worth it when I get home and process the shots (they are usually the first ones I work with). This thread is a showcase (your best pans) more than a tech discussion (although technical info on how the picture was created would be cool). Posting larger sizes would be appreciated so we can see all the detail and be emersed in the scene. I'll start off with a vertical pan I made in Zion over spring break. Tech info: 9 horizontals, Canon Xsi, 70-300 DO, tripod mounted, stitched in AutopanoPro, full tif is 3944 x 21222, 1.4 gb

Sounds good to me... Here are my favorite two panos from our Berdeen trip two years ago: =View from Bacon High Camp

Nice ones so far guys. I like the size of Ingunn's, didn't take long to load on my DSL, but I understand Mike's concern for dial-upers. Of course if it looks too big and takes too long you can just move on to another shot. Too bad about the blank areas on the Bacon High Camp Dayhike (what were you doing out overnight anyway wink.gif ) that is an incredible view of some fantastic peaks. The final light on Hagan is gorgeous - doing sunset or sunrise panos like this with such a range of light to dark is tough and you did this one very nicely (I love the glint on Baker Lake). Here is another Zion pan, 4 verticals, same camera/lens combo as my 1st shot, tif is 6147 x 2795 px, 256 MB.

I've only had one morning to process pictures from a North Cascades ski tour this weekend, but here is a panorama from a bivy below the Sharkfin Col.

Only one I've got currently, 4 verticals shot at 18mm because my 10mm was in the shop at the time. Gilbert Basin, Goat Rocks.

Nice panos! I've been trying to ween myself from a pano-addiction...but I can't seem to keep from taking a few here and there. Here's a recent one of the upper Methow/Mazama valley:
