Quote:
ACT BEFORE THE MORNING OF WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 11TH AT 10 AM EASTERN STANDARD TIME It is imperative that you contact all senators on the committee. Ask them to pass S. 1107 only if the bill does not make Fee Demo permanent for any agency other than the National Park Service. Ask them to fully support any amendment that completely ends Fee Demo for the Forest Service, Fish and Wildlife Service, and Bureau of Land Management. Tell them you oppose Fee Demo for any agency other than the National Park Service. Tell them that you want The Department of Interior's decision to increase BLM fee penalties rescinded.
Meanwhile in Colorado.

They raise $120,000 per year at one site and use it to clean the bathrooms three times per day? No wonder there's outrage afoot!

Let me make this easy for you. All you need to do is copy and paste. Also, note that Maria Cantwell is highlighted as a key person. SAMPLE LETTER (please put in your own words and add to...) Dear Senator, Please vote in support of S. 1107, the Recreation Fee Authority Act, as it is written. Please do not support the addition of any other agencies other than the National Park Service, to S. 1107. Please also vote to support any amendment to S. 1107 that may be introduced, which adds kill language for recreation fees for the US Forest Service, BLM and US Fish & Wildlife Service. I strongly oppose the decision by the Dept. of Interior, in the Federal Register on 2.6.04, to increase BLM recreation fee penalties to $5,000. Thank you. I am playing devils advocate. In a summary about George W. Bush's recent budget proposal to congress there is an 8% decline in funds to the Department of Agriculture. If you are smart, you know what that means for the bottom line of trails. Usually, the president gets what he wants.

Art is an adventure.

No pain no gain. Why let one president's budget make this 7 year "demo" experiment permanent? Meanwhile...
