Spring fever has got a death grip on me.
Beautiful hike today to Pine and Cedar Lakes in the Chuckanuts up near Bellingham. With side-trips thrown in, it was about 2,000 feet gain, approximately 7 miles. It didn't look much like spring but it felt like it, especially when I stopped to bask at Cedar Lake in the warm sun.

PS I couldn't resist taking a photo of this monster's face at the end of a switchback. Kind of reminds me of that painting called "The Scream".

Whoa, looks like a spooky frog's head too. Edvard Munch's "The Scream". Interesting because there's a new theory out that the blood red sky in that painting by Munch in 1883 was due to the Krakatoa eruption of that same year. Now where else but here can you find info about the Chuckanuts, The Scream, and Krakatoa!
