In keeping with the current trend of measuring closely spaced peaks, Thursday's smaller TNAB group set forth in near 100 degree heat to scale the 3 peaks of Guye* at Snoqualmie Pass. Yukon222, Moosefish and myself were surprised when 6:00 passed and we were still the only ones standing in the dusty Alpental parking lot. After a short debate about the necessity for a forest pass on our cars, we ascended the equally dry and dusty trail to the col between Snoqualmie and Guye where Zephyr was waiting to join us. Moosefish lead the way up the steep approach to peak 1. Near the summit, two more, Zeusdaddy and Alti-babe waited to join us. With the North peak tagged, we scrambled down the East gulley, and up an angled slab to access peak 2. Another scramble and down-climb lead to peak 3 where we took ample opportunity to survey Lemah, Thompson, Red, and Chikamin for future persuits. With photos taken and Yukon's frozen Gatorade consumed, Zeusdaddy unfurled the official TNAB altimeter and took this year's readings. Results? * for those considering this trip, a 50m hand line is helpful but not required

As I recall, ZeusDaddy's GPS altimeter showed South Peak at 5148', Middle Peak at 5162' and North Peak at 5145'. But of course when you are standing on all three, the others look taller. embarassedlaugh.gif

Hulk, I believe ZeusDaddy is using a custom modified helmet with a special carbon fiber interior. Think he said something about a unique honeycomb pattern to reduce the weight to almost nothing but still far exceed the design parameters. Scrooge, it was a hike to the North summit. But a hands-on scramble from there to the Middle and South summits. Guess one could do it without hands touching the rock or ground, but there are a few sections that would be a bit tricky.

Zephyr sent me over some great pics he took of TNAB on various peaks of Guye and kindly asked me to host and post them. Happy to oblige. smile.gif This one really waxes my vertigo:

Thanks! ewb. 'appreciate your helping out. I'll post some later comments and adventures. Note that 3/4 moon rising just over them in the 3rd shot (approaching south peak). Beautiful thunderheads in the distance makes for a splendid backdrop.

I was too. Actually, I was ready for a swim in Melakwa since that is what my calendar originally said. rolleyes.gif I also wanted to get home early. I had so many excuses it would make you sick. gag.gif I ending up hiking on Tiger, which is not the same as Guye. I saw a total of 18 people in three hours, which by Tiger standards is a miracle.
