Sorry to interrupt the Friday night dissection of the Thursday night hike, but I wanted to return to the original entries for a minute.

There are still two sitting on my counter if you are in the neighborhood. I was so tired I could not figure out how to give them away.

Sorry I missed another good one. My folks flew 3000 miles to see us, so I thought it would be a good idea to pick them up...
All that blabber about party size, etc belongs on another thread. Great pics Steve et al. I need a TNAB shirt.

Did anyone notice the campfire down at Rampart Lakes? Is that against regs? Not trying to divert attention, just wondering if it was disregard or ignorance or totally legit.

Holy criminy!
And 6 canines to boot!
I don't see a wilderness experience here. This was more of a natural disturbance.
Unless you're Daniel Boone pioneering a dangerous, untraveled territory, I don't believe pets should be in the backcountry. They scare off what little marginalized wildlife we have left.

I agree with Jo. It's a thread in itself. However, I will say this, and after logging thousands of miles over the years, and witnessing the utter destruction of trails and pristine areas by humans, I have a right to...
Humans do more damage than dogs. Period. If Mr. Goliter would do a little thinking before writing, he would realize how "marginal" his comments about dogs marginalizing wildlife are. Let's see now. Do dogs toss wrappers on the trail? Do dogs make large campfires and not clean them up? Do dogs leave cigarette butts or shotgun shells behind to poison the so-called marginalized wildlife?
Oh yeah, and I guess it was all those dogs that left that trash at Lake Isabel that Hulk and Co so generously cleaned up.
I could go on, but why bother. Banning dogs in the back-country is such a moronic comment, it barely warrants a response.
