There is something special about this peak for me. No other mountain in the Hwy 2 corridor dominates the skyline like Mt. Baring. Having done this easy scramble twice in the past I don't have it on any "to do" lists but it is probably the best scramble to take a friend on who doesn't get out in the mountains much. Such was the case this past weekend when I had two friends in town who wanted to go for a hike. Mt. Baring has the most bang for the buck and the route is class two and easy to follow. Since there have been so many TR's on this mountain I won't contribute anything further other then some great eye candy. cool.gif

Nice report and pics...your special connection with this mountain is evident in your pics. I can't say that I share the love though embarassedlaugh.gif nor would I take friends that don't spend much time in the mountains. But I guess your friends are alot tougher than mine! hockeygrin.gif It really is an impressive peak.

Well...I have a reputation to keep up wink.gif Besides Baring is a good Scrambling 101 test. If you pass this one easily then you get invited on something harder. hockeygrin.gif
