Touron is a nougat of Arabic origin made with almonds and honey or sugar, without which it would just not be Christmas in Spain.

I guess you'll have to dish up a side order of hash browns touron!

Oly, in the 1970's, there was a film called Heaven Can Wait, starring George Burns and John Denver.
On Thanksgiving 2009 there will be a film called Hash Browns Can Wait starring touron.

Hmmm...it would not be good if I were to change hash browns into harsh browns. Maybe I should consult with our resident Scrooge to make sure my holiday behavior is not too over the top.

Well I can't say I didn't see it coming, or that I blame him . Congratulations to my daughter Alison and soon to be son in law Matt.
This happened on stage at the end of the play "Rent" now playing at Tacoma Musical Theater where they both have key roles...

Great vid, Damian!
A couple more of Jake..
We went on a kid 'hike' near our home at the east end of the Gorge, where old Hwy 8 is now a bike path and hiker zone servicing the Coyote Wall / Courtney Road area. He's got a big wheel now and I figured hey, a mile of old road has to beat racing around the car port or the house. It did. That kid was all over and pedaled himself silly, all the mtn bikers passing by got a big kick out of this, not what they expected to see.
Places to go
Last Saturday we went to the Portland Zoo. Man, is that a cool zoo! Laid out on a hillside, it's habitat exhibits are dug into the old basalts of the area and you wind around on walkways and paths between them, it's really cool. It is really appropriate for the NW Cascades portion, you drop down into a creek ravine and that is where the otter, trout, salmon, sturgeon, cougars, and other critters are. Very nice. I highly recommend the Portland Zoo.
I got this at the sea lion tank, as you come down the hill it's a large pond with massive dark shapes moving around beneath it, when you go around to the downhill side and into the ground, you see under the pond from behind. I think this shot really captures the wonder kids get from being at the zoo....

My Flora turns 4 months tomorrow and what a wonderful four months it has been. She and my wife are the loves of my life. Unfortunately with busy season I only get to see her about an hour a day during the week.
Our last hike was a month ago on her 3 month birthday. Felt like a nice April day and we saw no snow until we reached Heather Lake.
Mom, you're good lookin'
She loves to get outside for walks. No cookies for you yet, cookie monster.
Our little cookie monster!
Me: "What are you going to do today, Flora?"
Flora: "The same thing I do every day, Daddy, try to take over the world!"
Quietly contemplative
I expect to continue to get this look over the years ever time I tell her, "Ya know, I used to be cool when I was your age". This look will probably be accompanied with nodding to help make me feel extra stupid.
Say what? Our little monkey.
We are very blessed to have such a happy baby.
No shortage of smiles
