It's not a bad camera. I just don't think it's worth a grand in light of the competition (Minolta A2) and the fact you can get a DSLR for that kind of money. If Canon were to knock $300 off the price it would get interesting.

Hey BPJ, I don't know what kind of camera you are looking for, but I had a friend get this one, http://dcresource.com/reviews/panasonic/dmc_fz10-review/index.shtml and he has been very happy with it. If you are looking for a zoom, this Panasonic has 12x optical with image stabilization. Thats tough to beat. All the pictures I have seen from it have looked very nice! The reviewer did a good job I think, pointing out both good points and bad. For a lot of people the bad points really aren't deal breakers. smile.gif

I've been following the various overseas reviews of the Pro-1, and it sounds like it's trounced the 8 MP competition, save possibly the A2. Some people have said the resolution of the pictures at ISO 50 is on par with 300D stuff, and prints at 16x20 are as clean as can be. Still waiting for a side by side comparison with the other 8MP cameras though. Not gonna buy one now (saving for a 300D or D70), but when the price comes down, come to papa! biggrin.gif
