Headed up to Lake Serene yesterday morning. The trail got hit pretty hard this winter: multiple large blow downs and one HUGE washout. All necessary bridges are in place though. The last 1/2 mile is still snow covered and the lake is just beginning its thaw. My companions postholed a bit, and the snow is beginning to look pretty rotten in places.
We were lucky to hear a few avalanches while eating lunch (and freezing) by the lakeside. Probably about 10-cars in the lot, and most people seemed to be heading all the way to the lake.
