Talk about trail trash... There's a five iron frozen into a waterfall in a SW gully at the base of Red Mountain. Who knows how many balls preceded it. irked.gif

He got just what he deserved. Golf balls are litter, same as anything else you deposit in the wild.

I wonder if they tried to climb down and get it? lol.gif Reminds me of that Seinfeld episode where Kramer hit golf balls into the ocean and only hit one good one which of course was in the whale's blowhole which George the marine biologist pulled out to save the beached beast.

When I walk down the beach near my house, I often see golf balls on the sand. One day I saw a kid hitting them off his lawn on the other side of the railroad tracks, onto the beach. One almost hit me. His mother was right there, watching him, and objected loudly when I asked him to knock it off. I told her that if he hit me or my dog, I'd break the club over his head first, and then hers. I guess this kind of "parenting" has always been around, but there sure seems to be more of it nowadays than I remember from the past.

Why not set the ball on the ground instead of a pack? Oh, I got it: to submit a staged video to the internet. down.gif On many fronts.

Slugman, your story reminds me of something that happened to me in Bulgaria while hiking there with my dad. We were scrambling up to this summit and on it was a young boy and his dad. The boy was throwing rocks off the summit, inconveniently directly toward our path of ascent. We yelled up at him to please stop. His dad, instead of making sure his son ceased immediately, suggested that we go around some other way to avoid the rock tossing. lol.gif Of course, this was a fairly minor infraction compared to the people coming up behind us, who were drunk and were shooting their gun in the air for fun. eek.gif

FREE GOLF BALLS at Lake Keechelus. Go to the first boat ramp (the one with a gentle end) and walk out from there in a fan direction. I was out for a walk and saw one after another new looking balls. I thought it was a joke, that many. There was a black Honda CRV, 'golfer with a dog. I assumed either the dog was going to fetch them lol.gif or the kid was going to pick them up. hmmm.gif I was preoccupied when they drove by. Should have asked if they intended on picking them up... They all looked brand new!
