Here's an excellent article on names & climbing on Higgins & Skadulgwas by John Roper.

It was a long and fun day. Great to finally get out with Putz, Dicey, Mark, and Matt. I have a long report with 35 photos here: Mt. Higgins Report The others have already included photos of most all the hike. Here are a few of mine.

Can anyone help me understand what the slope above this looked like? I am thinking of going up there tomorrow but with the avy forecast trending towards considerable for tomorrow afternoon I am starting to have concerns about human triggered avalanches on steep slopes. The map makes the whole route look rather benign. Any thoughts you guys have would be appreciated. Thanks.

That was the one steep open spot we had to cross before the top. It was a glade about a hundred feet wide and a few hundred feet long. The steps are near the top. Going higher around it wasn't feasible, but you could probably drop down one edge, cross, and then go back up the other edge to avoid the open part.
