Four of us are planning to travel (presumably to/from Seattle) with climbing gear to/from Mount Baker Wed 23 - Mon 28 Jun. We’re currently planning to rent a car. Are there other, better options (such as shuttle services)?

Car or hitchhiking are pretty much your only bet. The one bus that comes out this way (I live in the Mt. Baker foothills) stops about 40 miles short of the mountain, in a town called Kendal.

I've hitch hiked to Mount Baker once from Bellingham to the city of Glacier. I believe there is a bus system you can get to the city of Concrete if your going the south route, or you could try to get a partner who is going that way. (Request here or CC for Baker Partner if you want) As for the bus systems they bring you close to Mount Baker, but there is still some remainer distance. If you need info on bus's and such, let me know.

Which route are you planning to do? If the south or east side, you'll be going up Highway 20 & north side Highway 542.

We're all novices beyond ranges in the eastern US and we’re going with a friend of ours who is a professional guide. He’s currently on Cho Oyu and I don’t know what route he has selected for us.

We approached Baker's summit from Easton glacier, camping several days below and achieving the summit on the morning of the lunar eclipse – a fabulous day to climb. Thanks, all, for your input.
