Left the eastside at 3pm, the car at 4:20. it took an hour to the lake and about another hour and a half to the summit ridge. once we got out onto the talus it started pouring. then it started pouring sideways powered by 30mph wind. we gained the ridge and did not even try for the summit which subsequently disappeared in thick fog. this was my first time up silver and it is too bad we didn't get the view, it is a cool little scramble. anyway, it was wet and cold but better than the homework i didn't do. left the ridge at 7 and back at the car at 9. you can go all the way up without touching snow if you want, it ain't an issue anymore.
