After 2.4 miles and about 2100 feet of climbing you get your first view of Rainier and arrive at a nice rocky vista. A nice spot for a break if you need one (or even if you don't).

I noticed the highway down below and foundthis spot on the way back for the 2nd and 3rd picture here back up to the lookout. Easy to miss on the highway driving up (as I did) unless you are looking up in a narrow window.
