Aside from reports from Wildernessed, these 2 peaks get very little air time. To get to the TH drive east on Hwy 2 then north on Alt 97. Turn left at Entiat River Road and drive about 30 miles and take a left on road 5605 and follow to the end.
We TH bivied Monday night and we were off early on Tuesday morning up the North Tommy Trail. The route passses through a ghost forest and then starts up a series of switchback that briefly conclude at Pt 5863. There appears to be a platform for a large canvas tent at the point and the views are awesome. From there the route leads back into the forest and follows along the ridge making a gradual northwest to west curve high above a creek basin.
Near 6400' we decided to stop messing around in the 12" of snow and don our snowshoes. We pressed onward along the trail and eventuall found ourselves on the 6820' summit of Klone Peak. Views were great!! To our east we saw a small fire burning in the forest and it was gradually getting large. After a 20 minute break we headed back down and headed east to Kelly Mt. We blazed our own trail which lead to me falling in a tree well and getting stuck Adam decided to take the lead from there...
Soon we were on the 6780' summit of Kelly and loving life! We didn't stick around for too long because we still had a long return and the daylight isn't in abundance anymore this year.
The return was uneventful but very tiring! The last little bit of elevation to regain Pt 5863 was grueling to put it mildly. We finally returned to the car by 4:30 and all I could think about was getting back home and taking a long nap. Oh yeah, I still had a 3+ hour drive back home
Stats for the day: 15 miles RT and 5,000' gain
A great day in the mountains though with good people

Nice TR! The vid really captures the experience. And 5,000 ft of gain huh, our estimates weren't even close.
Say, what's a mountain goat doing way up here in a cloud bank?

On the "Mt David?" shot the main peak there is Glacier Peak, but I think that is David on the left. Or is it the DaKobed Range?
Good TR!
EDIT: Yeah, the peak on the left is the DaKobed Range, spefically Luahna Peak. Okay, had to be Mr. Wise Guy. Sorry. Im done now.
EDIT NUMERO DOSE: And the fire is a controlled burn near Mud Creek think. Okay, now I'm done.

Nice! I like the obscure ones, even if there is a trail.
Not only is this a great picture, but it also signals the impending arrival of Santa-Adam.

Nice work. That's a long drive and a lot of hiking in a day.
