Yowza, the parking situation was insane! Many, many, many cars lining the road to the trailhead -- not that unexpected, considering this is a very popular hike and that it's a holiday weekend. I wanted to do this hike again -- when I did it the first time two years ago it was pretty cloudy, plus I wanted to check out the rebuilt lower trail. I think I was in the minority there, because I only ran into two or three hikers on the Lower Elliot trail and didn't hit the crowds until I got to the lake. There were a couple of muddy spots and a few easy stream crossings, but the bugs weren't a problem (woohoo!). McIntosh Falls was flowing pretty heavily... had lunch at the lake and (this time) got to enjoy the peaks. Foggy Peak was gorgeous!
