H. Hound - Neat! It's been a long time since I've seen an owl sitting in a tree. Seen a few flying around last summer when I was working night shift out near Stanwood...
CJ - Did you take that pic? Priceless!

I was looking through some older pics and ran across this one I'd totally forgotten about. Taken at upper Lyman Lake in August '08.

A west side moose! Now that's incredible.

Two years ago I was walking back from the bathroom at Harbor Vista park in Lane County, Oregon, and I happened to shine my flashlight up into a tree. There was this owl, maybe 50 ft up the tree. So I went back to the campsite, got my camera, and a powerful flashlight, and tried to get the shot. But the light wasn't bright enough for photography, and with the light off my autofocus wouldn't lock in, too far away for the little infrared rangefinder. I couldn't just leave the light on and use the camera flash as the two lights caused interference patterns in the pictures. Finally I figured out that I needed the flashilight on to lock in the focus, then turn it off and take the pic using the flash only. Luckily the owl waited patiently while I got it all straightened out.

These aren't amesome photographs in fact they were taken with a handy disposable camera as I recall. The subject is Red the fox and the place is the cabin in Idahos mountains that I leased for the past few summers. I would sometimes leave Red the fox an egg.
Sitting around my camp in the yard who should pay me a visit? Red the fox, as opposed to the other grey foxs.
This is my nightly campfire in the yard.
Here comes Red the fox to my campfire for an egg. On the move. Getting closer. In for the egg. Foxy. Where is the Egg?

A photographer will die of old age waiting to get another shot like this one.
When a male can't stand it anymore!
Priceless shot!
photographer unknown.
Reminds me of my wife after I've had a few too many

Not exactly 'wild'life, but they were wild once! Our son sitting with his granny, cousin Mitchell and the cheetahs in Zimbabwe. This was in 1995.
