Me and a buddy of mine want to snowshoe to granite mountain to the lookout for a two day trip.

Do you know if they are renting the lookout? and if not, where could I go thats in a 50 mile radius 5-6k lookout that I could possibly rent or free?

Thanks!

No this lookout is not rented. During the summer it is staffed by volunteers. The North Bend Ranger Station at 425-888-1421 can tell you how to get on the list of volunteers. When I inquired a few years ago I was told that the use of the lookout is granted preferentially to those who volunteer for trail maintenance.

For anyone interested "Pilchuck" suggested by Magellan is good.

Although with further research due to snow the gates are closed, but walking by foot is still permitted beyond the gates : )
