I have this dehydrator. Cut Walla Walla sweet onions in about 1/2 inch whole pieces and do not separate the rings. Dehydrate overnight and you get some really awesome very healthy onion rings. I was screwing around with mine and was like, meh, why not.
Wow, they taste like a deep fried onion ring without the batter and deep fried part. I take them backpacking.
