Olympic mountains poster |
|
|
|
|
| A few (many?) years ago, I saw a poster of the Olympic Mtn range, with the mountains labelled. I am trying to find it online. Does anyone know where I might find one? |

This site has several different maps of the Olympics. Could one of them be the one you're thinking of?
-------------- A fuxk, why do I not give one? |

I just bought a poster a couple weeks ago from the Seattle flagship store with a panormic photo of the Olympics and the peaks labeled. I think it's probably the poster you are talking about. There were several left in a basket in the "map room" of the REI...so you could stop by there and check it out. Otherwise...they might sell them on their website as well. Hope this helps! |

The poster they are talking about is taken from somewhere in the Seattle area.
REI Downtown also has a poster of the North Cascades with all of the peaks identified. It's kinda cool, black and white and taken I think from Boston maybe.

| Is the viewpoint of the poster from the east, i.e. Seattle? I need some peaks on the north side ID'ed but everything I've seen is Seattlecentric. Maybe I'll take some photos and practice my stitching skills on a panorama and post it here for the cognoscenti to fill in the blanks. Might make a good nasty weather project. |
The pic from the poster is taken from Sommerset...
If you want help IDing peaks, I might be able to help. I know a few things about the Oly's Post some pics and tell me where they were taken from? Or email me. I'm happy to try and help!

I think I have seen this one (and other nice mountain posters) at Powells' in Portland, but they never have them in stock.

I know this is a long shot and these posts are forever old...but...did anyone find a place to purchase this poster? I've been looking for it forever and have never been able to find it.
Let me know at your convenience...
Thanks!

| I remember seeing these posters at University Bookstore on the Ave. They had copies on wall of the stairs down to the textbook section - Olympics, North Cascades, etc. Haven't been there recently so don't know if they still have them. |

It looks like Metskers is still selling Pargeter's Olympic Mountain Peaks poster.
Link
Also they have a really nice panoramic photo of the Olympics with labels on the wall at the Quilcene Ranger Station and they sell them there. I may pick up a copy next time I am there. I think it might have been taken from Bellevue area. I think they said the price is $16.00.
