When making posts sometimes it would take a few minutes to post. Then I get bored while waiting, create a new tab to see what else is on nwhikers. It also takes forever to open up. Then in a flash when the post is finally made the site goes from crazy slow to crazy fast! This has been going on the past few days. I know it's not my computer because while I wait I've tested other websites that load in way less than a second. Sometimes it will not even post my forum post. (thank goodness to firefox saving my posts when I hit the back button).

FWIW I've kind of noticed the same thing of late as well. You hit post and it sits there for quite a while before coming back.

Should only happen when you hit the submit button for posts with lots of flicr pics (as it needs to go grab all the captions from flickr).

I do not use flickr. I have to manually insert each caption on my photos as well as the pics themselves. This is one of the reasons I have been sparingly posting trip reports.

Not a problem here. Might be your internet connection or browser. Close browser, reset your connection, reboot computer, etc. to eliminate all other variables. I notice with Firefox sometimes web pages get hung up and the problem doesn't go away until I close the browser.

Well I do use firefox. So perhaps if this becomes an issue I'll have to try google chrome again.

I had to stop using firefox with nwhikers months ago as it stopped working completely (e.g., it would have the "loading" thing going on indefinitely). All other sites worked.

Nuts! Tonight it happened with a post with two paragraphs and one picture. And then, when I tried to look at something else on nwhikers, it couldn't make that connection, either.
It is a problem, Tom, and it's getting worse ...... and it's going to kill nwhikers, if it isn't fixed. Like Flow, people will find better uses for their time.

What browser were you using? Sounds like a firefox hang. I can't easily fix firefox bugs.
